Fine detailed carvings of birds, flower and butterflies are part of the work of this artist. Check out the gallery for more detailed pictures.

Each piece is sculpted from wood and painted in oil. The finished product is a life like representation of the bird, flower or butterfly. Larger species may be done in miniature. Since the artist is interested in both the bird and it's habitat, she will often incorporate woods from the country of origin. A bird such as the Lilac-breasted roller pictured above has a base made of pink ivory and ebony woods from Africa. The branch is a replica of the acacia tree.
